A sheep breeder, Bernard is also the storyteller of the tribe. He kept his youthful vigor thanks to his daily hikes leading his herd through the green highlands. Up there, his mind drifts away and he imagines the stories he will tell upon his return, around the village’s fire or under the flickering light of a lightbulb at Alphonse’s stall.
In winter he takes refuge in a red earth hut that his parents built at the top of a nearby hill. He can make fire there, and sometimes lets a few sheeps in to take shelter.
